John C. Pruehs
President & Founder

John founded the firm to apply intellectual capital in leadership and philanthropy as a way to enable nonprofit clients to achieve new levels of confidence, renewed vision and increased success.

Whether through the application of a tried and true method, or an innovative approach, the intent of Pruehs & Associates is always to deliver the highest quality solutions to the firm's clients, and to help them further their efforts to improve the quality of life for people and the communities in which they live.  Among his many roles, John is the catalyst who connects clients with specific firm resources that he believes will help them successfully achieve their goals.  John also stays actively involved in each client relationship, and today counts among his numerous friends the many people the firm has served, often over the course of multiple projects and more than a decade of service.

John's work in philanthropy pre-dates the founding of his firm.  For more than 30 years, he has led a wide range of significant philanthropic and creative efforts, involving clients across multiple geographic markets and industry types.

John is most proud of his personal success at encouraging and finding new and innovative ways for nonprofit organizations to achieve greater philanthropic outcomes through collaborations and partnerships.

John is a graduate of George Williams College with advanced work in administration and organizational behavior.  He also has served as vice president of a Chicago-based marketing and fund development consulting firm, Vice President of Development for George Williams College, and staff director for the American Cancer Society.  John began his career as a YMCA program director.
